Trip to Empire State

The roads crowded, airports busy , flights delay and airport parking slots full...
This is the busiest day of the year in US. All are on a holiday for "Thanks Giving day".

Thursday was"Thanks giving day". All the shops will be closed on that day. This day, Americans thank all the people who have helped them in life and business. We went to a temple in NewJersy in the evening. Its a south Indian temple. Its flooded with Indians, was wondering whether it was India or US.

Next day, the Black Friday, the shops will open early in the morning, and all the products will be sold in half prices and discount rates. We went to OfficeDepot, Best Buy and JCPenny. Strange!!!There is queue to enter the shop..Which is the only time we see queue in US. That too in the chilling cold of zero degree centigrade, people wait out. There were even people who had made tent near the shops in the night, so that they can buy first.

On saturday, travel in New Jersy Train and Worlds oldest subway(underground trains) was so marvellous. There are such extreme tempetratues in US, yet with careful planning they have achieved this good infrastructure, need to learn something from them.

We went to "American Musuem of Natural History", its so huge.We need one week to see everything. To name a few it Consisted of Space, Butterflies, water, African mammals, Dinosaurs, Fiction. The best part was the paintings for the 3-D effect and the mammals , which seemed as though we were in Africa.

There was one interesting thing was we could see our weight in Mars, Jupiter and Sun.
When we get into the details of Universe it seems, we are so tiny in the vast universe.
Was just left with admiration seeing all this.

Sunday, was the day to visit the Island Manhattan. The debris of WTC were waiting for reconstruction, lot of work in trains and platforms done in such short time. The tall buildings and busy crowd reminds of Mumbai. The World Financial centre standing high with one of TCS offices there ,filled pride in the TCS employee. Few steps ahead was "Trinity church". A little further walking down to Wallstreet to see NewYork Stock Exchange was a silent photosession time with no vehicles allowed to enter the Wallstreet.

We were waiting for a ferry to see one of the then seven wonders of world, the statue of Liberty. The Hudson river lay speechlessly moving devoid of ferrys noisy movement. Too many people had boarded the ferry, it seems many below middle class people stay in that island.Ferry was huge and strong enough to carry every person who yearned to go on the other side of the land. As the ferry drew forward, there we could see the statue of Liberty with its mighty light .

From there we went to "Time Square street ", the streets all colourful with so many hoardings , mostly three dimensional. In that street we could see many walking which you will not find in silent US who zoom in big and huge vehicles , taking pride in increased size of belly. Down the lane, there was a shop which sold only toys, the toy"R"us. The Giant wheels of different designs attracted the children. A good source of revenue was the giant wheel. Colourful teddies and other toys kept calling the kids silently towards them.

It was too late , we were hungry and could even devour a dinosaur..hence decided to rush to NewJersy. The naughty toddlers, Vishnu and Anagha were still wide awake to play. The kids had so much enthusiasm in them.

The next day we caught a flight back to Charlotte. For a moment, it seemed like a dream with so many events in few days.
